OLD AFRICAN TRADE BEAD & PURE SILVER
I originally went to Bamako, Mali, West Africa in February of 1992. It was there that I began to collect Malian mud cloth textiles and old African trade beads. The older beads were hard to find but I was luckily taken to Marche Golonia on the outskirts of Bamako. There I met and dealt firsthand with many bead sellers, & traders who came in from the bush with their precious finds. All of these earrings are made from beads that I have carried from & back to West Africa. I work with one particular silversmith in Niger & we co-create these earrings together. All of them are a unique one of a kind pair.
